Legal Expenses Insurance
We will always ask you whether you have some form of insurance cover which is already available to you and is therefore free of charge. This is called legal expenses insurance and might form part of your motor insurance, household insurance, credit cards or trade union membership. It forms an added benefit to the main policy that you have taken out. Using this insurance will not lose you any no claims discount, as you are not making a claim on the main policy.
A legal expenses insurance policy will usually provide full protection for our costs and your opponent’s legal fees. It should also cover the cost of disbursements such as medical report fees and court fees. Legal Expenses Insurers often agree to clients instructing us under the terms of their policies, even though we are not on their panel, due to our experience and expertise.
No Win No Fee Agreement
Government reforms have recently changed the way in which personal injury and clinical negligence cases can be funded. If you do not have a legal expenses insurance policy it may still be possible to fund your case with a No Win No Fee arrangement, so that if you lose you do not have to pay our legal costs. However, it is important that you seek advice on your funding options from your solicitor to understand what arrangements are available to you.
